'Game over' Muhyiddin
ETALING JAYA: An Umno branch leader from the Pagoh division has described Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's (pic) political career as 'game over' following his decision to sign a declaration against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Seri Ledang Utara branch chief Datuk Zaaba Aman said it would be better if the suspended Umno deputy president was sacked from the party altogether.
"For Umno's own good, it is best if Muhyiddin is sacked. He is finished, game over. Enough," he was quoted as saying by a news portal on Tuesday.
"It was his own mistake, so what more can we do? Muhyiddin's struggle has become the opposite of what he has been saying before this," said Zaaba, who is said to be a close associate of Muhyiddin.
Zaaba said Muhyiddin's decision to sign the recent citizens' declaration against Najib together with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the Opposition was the final straw.
"As a hardcore Umno man, how could he collude with DAP? To me, he has veered very far," he said.
The branch leader also expressed concern that Muhyiddin, who is Pagoh Umno division chief, would use upcoming divisional meetings as a platform to criticise Najib.
"I am concerned as division meetings will be held soon. Once he's on stage, he will go all out to criticise Najib and the party leadership.
"The rest of us just have to sit and listen. I cannot take that," he added.
